Delegation to South Korea

From 18 to 23 October 2014 the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation was part of a delegation from the province of Salzburg to South Korea. Besides visiting various Austrian subsidiary companies the Mozarteum Foundation had the opportunity to present its work and to make interesting contacts with potential partners for the future. The violin Mozart used as a child was also taken on the journey and was played in Seoul and Busan on several evenings by an eight-year-old Korean child prodigy, accompanied on the piano by Dr Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg, president of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation.  The performances caused a sensation in the media.

The little Korean girl has now been invited by ORF Studio Salzburg to perform in a Christmas show (ORF/BR/3SAT) and can again be heard at the beginning of December in Salzburg playing Mozart’s child violin. It was wonderful to experience once again how Mozart, represented by the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation, as an international ambassador opens doors to new joint projects.  Thus the basis has been created for a further exchange with South Korea, and the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation is looking forward to further developments.
