Turkish Minister President visits the Mozarteum Foundation

Together with a prominent delegation, the Turkish Minister President Abdullah Gül
visited the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg on May 4, 2011 during his stay in Salzburg. Gül
accompanied by the Austrian Minister President Heinz Fischer as well as the Salzburg
State Govenor Gabi Burgstaller toured the Mozart Residence. They viewed the main rooms of
the museum and the President of the Mozarteum Foundation performed works by Salzburg's
Genius Loci together with the Romanian singer Laura Nicorescu for the honored guests on
Mozart's own piano forte.

Following the thirty minute performance, President Gül was given a private tour of the
Autograph vault by the Director of the Bibliotheca Mozartiana Prof. Geneviève Geffray.
The delegation consisted of 100 persons - including high level delegates and University
staff. Prof. Geneviève Geffray related, "As a small surprise for the Turkish President,
we prepared a special vitrine for his visit. On display was the only existing page of the
Turkish March as well as a hand-written page from Mozart's libretto from the Entfühung
aus dem Serail
dating 1782."
