Visit of the Japanese Mozart Association in Salzburg

From March 31 to April 2 2013, the Japanese Mozart Association visited Salzburg. President Shigeaki Saegusa and 21 members visited Mozart’s Birthplace with the director of the Mozart Museums, Gabriele Ramsauer. On April 1st, the president of the Moarteum Foundation, Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg, received the Mozart Association and revealed his pleasure about the good relations to our Japanese friends. Afterwards, the group had a guided tour at the Mozart Residence, whose reconstruction had only be possible with Japanese help on behalf of the Dai-ichi Insurance Company. The visit ended with a guided tour of the “heart” of the Mozarteum Foundation: the autograph’s vault with more than half of the letters and important scores of the Mozart family.

The Japanese Mozart Association had been founded in 1955 and today counts more then 550 members. As identification every member gets a number of the Köchel listing.
